British Grove is a lovely studio, the main studio 1 is a lovely sounding room, a big open space which can accomodate a small orchestra and the control room has fabulous monitoring. In the surrounding halls and corridors you can find piles of well maintained vintage gear, mainly old valve stuff, although Abbey Road puts this to shame a bit (at Abbey Road you can brush past the desk The Beatles used or the desk used by Pink Floyd on your way to the loo). British Grove Studio 2 is more of a mixing / writing room. I reckon Studio 1 is where the Stones would be, if they are there at all!British Grove used to be Island Records of course and when I used to do session work at Island Records there was a parking space marked CHRIS BLACKWELL in the car park so I always used to park in it. I mean what were they going to say?
