I watched that programme  and I was so disappointed with the music this year. Hard to listen to and I never knew the composer's works at all. I switched off at around 9pm thinking the usual rousing ending would not  be forth coming  so obviously I seem to have missed the  by doing that,  I missed out on  lovely old traditional  pieces. So remember Sir Malcolm Sargent's Prom days  when I used to queue over night,  sitting on the stool provided in order to get a ticket  '  up in the Gods  '

I only saw the last 10/15 minutes of the proms due to watching a morning programme I had recorded. I was left with goose pimples having watched Land of Hope and Glory, God Save the King and Auld Lang Syne.

Gosh yes, you are so right!I mean just watch the BBC Last night of the Proms last night:-No Farage or Tice - shock horrorNo immigrants storming the gatesLots of proud EU flags alongside the Union JackAnd all that foreign muck music - Mussorgsky, Hummel, Pépin, Lehar, Dukas, Shostakovich and that dreadful homosexual Mercury and even that awful German Bach poked his head in at the end.I even caught a glimpse of an LGBTQA+ pride flag.Where will it all end??????

Miniature flags used to put with Pimms drinks, I used to keep them as I like miniatures and love the U J.  Also the tiny brolly not sure if they still use them.

Oh we see it happening all right but feel impotent. Well I do, I am pretty ancient. I'm certainly concerned for future generations.  I was very uplifted to see our national flags waving down CHR recently but of course the council swiftly removed them. That the flags were put up at all shows we are not alone. The one thing we ancients can do is not comply, so I don't.
