Chiswick High Road shops

So, Cotswolds has gone. Why? Because the landlord wants to split the site into 3 separate units, and rent each out separately. Good luck with that! Cotswolds was a destination shop, so people would take the trouble to go to that end of the High Road, also near Halfords, similarly, a destination business. I gather that the old Lloyds Bank is to become a Wholefoods store? Presumably a mini one? It's not the cheapest of food stores but perhaps astute, being close to the market stall? I can't see The White Company lasting very long. Curiously, it's not mentioned on their main website.

I don't want to burst any Hyacinth Bucket type bubbles, but the new place isn't the Wholefoods (branded) store loved by our North American cousins, it's a shop that sells whole food from all accounts. Nowt wrong with that per se, but the High Road hasn't been escalated to High Street Ken status. 

I can't find this brand online, so will be interested to see what it's all about.

I think there are a lot of positive things happening on the High Road and adjacent roads.  The Cotswold site is already under offer (per the letting agent) as is the old Paperchase site.  White Company is listed https://www.thewhitecompany.com/uk/our-stores.    A Wholefoods would be amazing - let see though, they closed their Richmond branch.

I think Cotswold Outdoor Group has been in financial difficulties for some time, closing stores here and there. I’m not sure you can entirely blame a wicked Chiswick landlord for its demise!
