Three in one oil

Other than Robert Dyas, can someone suggest a place in Chiswick where I could buy a can of three in one oil?

Yes, I suppose we shouldn't pay the inflated price, only with the heating we have no choice.

The strange thing about "bad harvests" is the products affected often go up in price but when the next years harvest is good the price rarely reverts to the original level.

Yes a bad harvest or something, I find the dark chocolate nice as it's not sweet, also packed with iron apparently, don't buy it often.

Cocoa has gone up incredibly,  so that explains the chocolate, especially dark chocolate.

You are right about Public Eye. Filmed around Windsor and Eton. When he is in a cafe and orders a tea! The price is unreal. Fantastic show. The taxi, often an Austin 1800. Another world.

Yes all our chocolate has gone up. The cheapo bars I usually buy, dark choc with almonds, gone from 1.67 to 2.47 in just a few days. Fresh bread gone from $1 to $1.47 in one jump!

The 'sport' bars of dark chocolate with hazelnuts, which is half the size of a normal bar of chocolate is now £2.20, I think it used to be 90p,

I watched Public Eye on TV a few weeks ago(it was a very popular show in the late 60's and until 1975) and our hero Frank Marker ordered a double scotch,a pint of bitter,a roast beef sandwich,a meat pie and a packet of crisps and the barman asked him for 84p.

It's now £2.38 in Asda - just thrown some away too as the tin was from 1971 and had got a bit rusty. cost 3d too.

Yes, the post decimalisation prices can be a little shocking.I remember when Mars Bars were 6d (two and a half new pence) now they're over a pound. 😱

Thanks for all the replies. I asked the question initially because I went to buy a can in Robert Dyas and thought the price was extortionate but I have since realised it was charging around the going rate. It was so long since I needed to purchase the product that I was expecting a much lower price.

Please note not for electrical garden equipment, only use recommended oil.

WD40 specialist silicone spray is waterproof and will keep dust and dirT away, best for garden equipment, doors that stick etc.,

If you're using it for garden power tools, then don't, as it will all clog up from dust and dirt

Maybe, but it was the WD40 of its day. All you needed to keep a bicycle going indefinitely was an adjustable spanner, a puncture repair kit and a can of the ubiquitous oil.I still have some that must be over 50 years old.Having said that I don't think I've used the stuff for at least a decade - I don't think it goes off!

In the days that I went offshore sailing, our engineer said don't use the stuff.3-in-1 oil, while versatile, can cause issues due to its tendency to gum up and its potential to damage certain materials. It's not ideal for some model engines or plastic components due to the gummy residue it can leave behind, according to some model engineering and train forums,. Additionally, it's not a long-term lubricant for some applications, as it can evaporate over time.
