"Underground electric infrastructure is too big a job and too expensive."I thought a lot of the people living here thought nothing of being caught watering their gardens when there was a water shortage and hosepipe ban/water rationing because they were rich enough to pay the fines?I understood that the wooden electricity poles were also implicated in the fast spread of and difficulty in containing the devastating fires in Maui a couple of years back.

And it is big because of the new toxins being found from EVs.And now you also say I may not be a fan of EVs.Anymore predictions?I just posted what was reported because it's important. It's that simple.I can post word-for-word what was said and let others decide. But its not a huge issue in the world of the w4 forumSorry if you run an EV and were offended by what the guy said

Of course burnt EVs will add to the toxicity, but the video specifically highlighted asbestos and petroleum products (such as asphalt shingles and plastics) as the key issues. The simple truth is that c.20,000 homes were burned down and 6300 vehicles of all types (which means c.2000 EV at most). Which do you think is the major contributor to toxicity: 20,000 homes burnt out all of which had petroleum products in them, some of which had large amounts of asbestos and that is not counting other toxins in the home, or 2000 EVs?I guess you are not a fan of EVs, do not let your own biases blind you

That was a great video but uncomfortable viewing.Made a lot of interesting points about how the places will be rebuilt.  And despite what one poster said, there was only 2 mentions of EVs (one relating to EVs and ICE cars running out of charge/fuel, whilst trying to get away) and the real contamination is likely to be from the amount of asbestos in the buildings that need to be torn down.Does make me wonder whether I have enough insurance to rebuild after a fire

I was a bit taken aback that they were putting the electric infrastructure back in with new wooden pylons, given that it was wooden pylons that got blown down and caused some fires. Underground electric infrastructure is too big a job and too expensive.Interesting how the insurance COs delay and hold back payments, and 8 days to communicate by law. And that can be just an email to say we have received your email, and then another 8 days kicks in.

I presume you are rrferring to lithium ion batteries.  They are in everything including vapes and vacuum cleaners and we are pretty hopeless at recycling them even when we have the chance to. Amazing, thanks for posting this. EV's, it makes me wonder what else is stored up in the future as a result of EV's. It reminds me of the theory that everything that is done causes a reaction. We certainly learn a lot on this forum.
