Dawat Devonshire Road

Anyone been yet? I'm a bit miffed it doesn't serve beer (or any alcohol for that matter), and you can't BYO either, so I'm keen to hear whether it's worthy of a (dry) visit. Call me a philistine if you will, but a curry sans beer feels a bit weird (at least to my palate).

Attempted an eat in and had to abort that plan as there wasn't any A/C and with recent conditions the place was like a greenhouse. Ordered a delivery which had absolutely nothing to commend it.

Surely they are waiting for a license to be approved? If it really intends to be completely dry with no option to bring your own, it will be gone by the end of the year.

I almost begged, Julian, and having asked two members of staff a la "Do you REALLY not serve beer/can I BYO?", I was forced to go elsewhere. W4 so needs a great curry house (with beer) and a decent Chinese restaurant.
