Chiswick Station Footbridge

It would be very helpful to have a gulley for bikes fitted alongside the steps on this footbridge - can't be very expensive. Could you give me the email of National Rail's repairs Department, please? Would it be worth starting a petition?

By the sounds of it, the works are just maintenance rather than overhaul, which is quite concerning given the state of the footbridge. Many of the steps, particularly on the Eastbound side of the bridge are of varying depth, height and angle which is incredibly dangerous. I'm also concerned that with the footbridge out of order, many foolhardy souls will cross the tracks at the Western end of the platforms, rather than slog around to the bridge - especially if an E3 is due in on Burlington Lane! I do hope that SWR (or Great British Railways) will monitor the station and ensure that shortcuts aren't taken (in repairs or passenger routes...)

The station needs to be staffed or monitored in some way during at the start and the end of the school day.

Agreed. I've seen children crossing there a number of times (never in school uniform though).

We really need to make travelling by means other than personal cars much more accessible.It sounds as though the steps would fail Building Regulation approval if they were new and had differing riser heights and tread widths...
