Not strictly true. A lot of people in Cuba under Castro, for example, were given their own plots of land and many used the land to grow food. When you speak to some people in Havana, they have a far better understanding of food subsistence than we do.

Mikhail McBean, you seem to lack the ability to make your comments clearly understandable. The deal is for Indians working short-term in the UK, and for Brits working short-term in India, to avoid them having to pay NI in both countries on the same earnings. Why you should think that English people working in the UK should get special NI treatment (let alone Welsh, Scots and Irish) when they are not being double-charged is a mystery. Only a fool would equate the two.
