Living In-House with an Elderly Person

My niece has been living with my elderly mother for nearly 2 years but is leaving soon, to relocate to the north of England.Mum is currently self-sufficient but finds it comforting to know that someone else is around the house most days. Does anyone know if there are agencies of some sort who match and vet homeowners with those wanting a place to live?

HelloI have been living in London for a long time, was a teacher, a nanny, used to work at St Pauls Girls in the office, worked for a family in South Kensington for 3 years (checkable references) got DRBS and looking for a room in exchange for work. There are lots of agencies who are expensive ut also lots of charities that would help too.https://getvolunteering.co.uk/organisations/volunteering-matters/513 try this organisation.  if your mum does not need "care" as such but someone around as a companion this can be excellent and so much cheaper. I had volunteers from the old CSV they came from the US, Korea, Germany and all over England ,Scotland and Wales They lived with a woman in Uxbridge but came to me on 3 days a week.  I am still in contact with some of them even now they they married and have families of their own.  It was a wonder time until my needs increased and I had no where for someone to stay.

Hi Phil, there are a number of agencies such as this one. I’m afraid you will need to copy and paste the ‘link’ below. I have read numerous articles over recent years about this.
