One policeman came to the door ?

This afternoon a man came to the door dressed as a policeman claiming my husband’s van had been broken into . I wasn’t home and my daughter answered the door . As I’m divorced  and my ex husband never had a van I am wondering if it was a scam - should I report this ?

Sometimes they seem to need reminding that it is an offence to impersonate a Police Officer and it will be a very worrying experience for many law abiding people to have them knocking at the door.

well as I ve described in the circumstances I ve put above  either police were NOT interested in police being impersonated in W4 or else they were real coppers and someone paid them off to disappear the report ! Either way its appalling.I am sorry for Gabriella, must have been an anxious experience and I hope she has luck getting to the bottem of it.

Hey Gabs, as I suggested the other day ... sounds like a scam so report itto the POlice. As Richard says they take impersonating a police officer very seriously.

Gabriella was asking about something I don't think she needs your claptrap about what police do and might not do based on something you say.Ring the police, Gabriella, and ask for info

- no Georgie the police will not be interested. 2 police attended an address in W4 a few yrs ago claiming they had information of a male child being held against their will there - the police went away after a while without searching the bldg. Around 18 months later it became necessary for a report to be made to police about some events in that bldg, a pleasant police officer looked through the computer but could find no record of that first visit by police and this was never investigated. The case was shut down. I cant be specific about the address of the bldg  for obvious reasons. As I ve explained before, we dont have a police force protecting citizens against criminals - that would  just be a fond memory of a bygone era. We only have a police service that protects corporations. Huge change is needed.

Hi therePersonally, I’d report it… just to be on the safe side. The police will know why he attended your address. If he’s not a real policeman, then maybe some of your neighbours have cameras. The police take imitation very seriously.
