If you can source a book called Defying Hitler by Sebastian Haffner it is a valuable insight into the socio-political situation in Germany at that time and explains why Hitler filled the void after the turmoil post WW1.I dont know in what year Germany introduced universal suffrage,but many German men who had fought in that terrible war and their now grown up sons felt that as Germany had not surrendered(it was an armistice),that they had been humiliated and were ready to avenge that perceived humiliation.Very tragically they got their way.

Had a quick look at two papers on both sides of the political divide. No comments from the Grauniad but the Mail has the story of a convicted paedo in Rochdale who has served a very lenient jail sentence. We tried to deport him back to Pakistan as he had dual nationality but, surprise surprise, they won't take him. He's still working on the streets he prowled looking for girls to assault and all this after, I'm sure, we paid for his appeal fees to avoid deportation.

There was an interesting programme on Channel 4 last night about the breakout of some people from an immigration removal centre. I don’t pretend to know all the facts about these utterly dreadful men but it appears even those found guilty get light sentences which in itself is a disgrace. I have said for a long time if anyone from any other country commits a serious crime in our country they should be stripped of citizenship if they have it and deported. It’s a given if they are illegal deported immediately. We need to toughen up on crime and have some real deterrents so just perhaps people will think twice before committing a crime. It would be interesting to know the stats on people in prison who are not a British national from birth. Citizenship should not count for anyone committing a serious crime.

Peter, last year when Priti Patel was Home secretary she deported 12K foreign criminals including murderers, rapists and and sex workers.Under Free Gear Keir, Labour campaigned to keep murderers, rapists and sex offenders here.It is also worth pointing out that both main parties, the CPS and the police- all infected by the woke syndrome-  are being charged by the Reform party for shamefully protecting Pakistan grooming gangs for the shameful, prolonged abuse of young white girls.
