Citroen Ami

Tiny run around, 50 mile radius on 4 hour full charge under £8000 they say it's a rubbish car but good little run about for the city, two seater don't think there would be much room for shopping though.  It's actually a quadricycle. fully electric.

The photo doesn't show Chris but it looks a very worthy successor to the four-wheel  Farrar Isetta.  My mate Dave had one and is was ruddy good fun.

Double the price but double the groovy factor is the Microlino, based on the old Isetta Bubble Car. Get a red one with white hubcaps and be transported back to the swinging sixties! Good range too and not limited to 30mph.

I was travelling behind one yesterday, it was left hand drive it wentup a very steep hill with no problem and was doing abou 26 mph, as yousay nowhere for much shopping.

For £8000 you can buy a good second hand, comfortable, diesel Range Rover

Untested by NCAP and has no safety rating. As a quadricycle it does not have to meet the safety standards applied to cars despite being capable of almost 30mph.Also, don't think about popping between a couple of junctions on the motorway - illegal to use an Ami there.
