Chiswick's own Georgia Hunter Bell, who attended St Mary's Roman Catholic school, finally achieved her goal on Sunday when she won gold in the women's 1500m at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Torun, Poland.It must have been a proud moment for the school, and worthy of mention at morning assembly.

Indeed. What a story - bidding should begin now for the film rights. Mention should also be made of coaches Trevor Painter and Jennie Meadows who have done extraordinary things at this Olympics

I switched my TV on not knowing what event I would be watching and felt lucky to catch the last two laps of the women's 1300m.How good was Chiswick's own Georgia Bell to hand off the great Laura Muir to get bronze.And Laura Bell's sportsmanship was something to behold.

As I have become an instant expert on athletics over the last few days, I'd say that a 'win' for Georgia would be to finish 5th or 6th. That would an astonishing achievement. Anything more would be a miracle.

Whilst her parents were temporary living there. She was educated at St Mary's school in Chiswick, then Sacred Heart in Hammersmith and finally Cardinal Vaughan...as did my daughter! And your point is?

It's taking place at 6.35 this evening. She seems to have a good chance of getting through as only three of the runners in her heat have run faster than her this season and the first six go through.
