How does your garden grow this year?

It's been a tricky year so far. Rain, rain , more rain, cold then hot.Most past years my vegetable plot has been reasonable successful but this one has been a washout. So much so I have decided to turn it into a wild and cut flower garden with the hope of encouraging more insects and butterflies.Recent highlights from my garden including, stag beetles, meadow brown and brimstone butterflies, a blackcap singing its heart out from the large tree at the far end plus a buzzard spotted twice flying South mobbed by gulls.How does your garden grow this year?

Loads of bees and butterflies. Sad for my neighbour⁵ as she is petrified of butterflies. My goldcrests yave not made an appearance but any number of acrobatic parakeets.

I've not seen a single butterfly and far fewer bees than usual. I have, I think, an insect friendly very small garden. Plenty of slugs and magpies though.

Roses have been exceptionally good and the shruberry has had to be cut back twice already before the choisia takes over completely. 1h have left the lavender bed to 'go wild' the bees are loving it.

Too many slugs and flying ants, lawn short but full of clover, plants all doing ok, not sur about the potatoes, been difficult to get much done.
