It doesn’t look like anyone is prepared to comment, adversely or otherwise. 3 surgeries have recently combined and to get an appointment you are required to go online, state your reason for wanting an appointment with photos, if appropriate. As I understand, your request goes to a committee who assess your request and they decide who and when and where you will be dealt with. For example, a few months ago I attended a local hospital and a course of action was relayed to my GP practice. I have been contacted by my original surgery, an appointment made at another surgery for an injection. A prescription will be sent to the pharmacy I use for the injection medicine which I must collect and take with me to my appointment.I am not implying any criticism. Just demonstrating how everything is changing and becoming very impersonal. Don’t really know what to think but certainly don’t want to be ‘de doctored’ either. Being a practical self help motivated person, heaven help you if you are a ‘needy’ easily confused one.You never know, this system may force people to look after themselves better and not contacting the GP on trivial matters. I have not had a face to face appointment with ‘a’ GP let alone ‘my’ GP since before 2019.
