Yes, a devastating blow, and very sad news. Deepest sympathy to his wonderful family and friends, especially the devoted Kevin Sinfield. There are lessons for all of us here on how to live. If only Rob had lived to see the work starting on the dedicated MND centre that he raised so much money for, and which starts today. RIP.

And an honour for Rob's widow Lindsay whose quiet dignity and devotion are a lesson to many. Some sad souls are saying that she was just doing what any wife would do.Really? Caring for the love of your life, raising you three kids while you husband slowly wastes away in the public gaze.So tragic.

Rod Burrow was a stand-out pocket rocket played in a field of hard, muscular giants.Like Doddy before him, his illness was a travesty.The first action Sir Keir should do on becoming PM is press the King to award Rod Burrow's captain and great friend Kevin Sinfield a knighthood.
