Golfrooms Vantage

Hi all, iv recently been over to the new Golfrooms facility in the Vantage London building by Gunnersbury park. Fantastic setup to learn golf, lots of kids coaching and very welcoming to beginners and non members. The golf setup is top class and after stick around for a beer and a game of pool and darts. Highly recommend and they are offering free 30 minute golf lessons or 60 minute family lessons

Justin, I carry a 7ft Christmas tree on my bike. I carry several children on my bike. I have carried a 7 ft Xmas tree and a child on my bike at the same time. And it isn't a cargo bike. Carrying my clubs to Dukes Meadows is very easy. I suggest you google to educate yourself on different types of bikes and attachments for golf bags because you're clearly too full of animosity to believe anything I say. I don't use my bike to transport Christmas trees, children, golf clubs or skis on long journeys outside of London. I use my car.There are more things in heaven and earth, Justin, than are dreamt of in your carbrain philosophy

Paul: Carbrains do not have the faculties to comprehend that car owners who are better people than them can and do support LTNs, cycle lanes, 20mph zones, ULEZ and will cycle /  walk / take PT to an indoor golf simulator in London instead of using the car.Oh dear it appears Paul is unable to remember his own arguments.  You can certainly take the H91 to/from close to Vantage West, although maybe only do so at quiet times as a golf bag is rather large and gets in the way of other bus users such as parents with kids in prams.  Of course what Paul actually said on this thread was:"Nope. I carry my golf clubs on my bike."Assuming that Paul is a golfer, which is looking increasingly unlikely, how many clubs do you carry on your bike and how exactly do you carry them without being a danger to yourself and other road users

Brilliant, W4’s biggest anti car warrior retorts with “I own a car”. Can’t recall saying you had to own a car to play golf, there are such things as a taxi or car club to ferrying your clubs around and of course hire cars once you’ve flown abroad (or drive and ferry).Oh the irony of that post ….. hilarious.Ps thought Carbrain was a neighbourhood in Scotland so don’t see what there has to do with this ….. other than of course there’s some cracking course in Scotland.

How quickly the local petrosexuals who have developed an unhealthy obsession with me forget that I own a car …. That’s just one clue to help you try to imagine the things you can’t yet conceive. Although I know a lot of very good golfers on low single figure handicps who play at the best courses in the country and abroad who do not own a car, have never learned to drive and still find it possible to beat old men with Carbrain who have so limited their thinking that they believe that car ownership is a prerequisite to playing golf. Carbrain is hilarious. The things it makes people say!

The amusement is all ours thanks Paul as the definition of floundering you are illustrating to a tee (pun intended) and making mistake after mistake missing out on all those fantastic UK golf courses whilst you plod off on your bike locally with a few clubs slung over your back. #Car #WillTravelToTop100GolfCourses

As someone who is both a cyclist and a golfer, I can only conceive of a couple of ways of safely carrying golf clubs on a bicycle: (a) you are only carrying a couple of clubs - you might even be able to tie them on to your top tube, certainly seen a few people do that over the years going down to driving range (lot quieter road so pretty safe), (b) you have a large cargo bike, and you can carry your golf bag and clubs without effecting your safety.It is of course possible that Paul has such a cargo bike in which case the bike lane that runs past Vantage House would be an excellent way of getting to the Golf Rooms.  The alternative is that Paul is not a golfer and therefore has little idea how big a golf bag with 10-14 clubs actually is
