Reliable, employed Afghan refugee seeks room to rent

Do you have a room to rent to a really nice young man in steady employment?My Afghan refugee guest, Dawood, has now had a proper job in the kitchen of a city lawyer since January and is looking for a room to rent either in a family home as a lodger or a shared flat or house. He can afford about £600-£650 a month. He’s keen to be in Acton/Chiswick as he wants to play cricket here (SO keen on cricket!!) and be near the Elizabeth Line because his job is near Farringdon.He is 26, quiet and tidy and has good English…Obviously I can give him a good reference as he has been with me since November…Also, his employer is happy to give him a reference….Any thoughts?

Now my other guest - a refugee from Yemen who works as a videographer and stage crew, but who has just been accepted for Birkbeck this autumn - is also looking.Around £650 a month as he doesn’t earn a fortune.Nice chap, good cook. Reliable and responsive.Anyone have a room? Location not super-important as he works all over the place.

Yes!!Dawood saw a room in Ealing yesterday (through Facebook post not here) and is moving in next Saturday. A couple of other people came forward too so I am hopeful of finding move on places for at least two other Refugees at Home guests - which means hosts can help more homeless recent refugees.Which is cheering….
