Counterfeit Stamps

Has anyone received any letters together with a demand for £5 as the stamp is deemed to be counterfeit?  There seem to even be old stamps sent for exchange deemed to be counterfeit.This article is worrying:https://www.theguardian.com/money/2024/apr/22/counterfeit-barcode-stamps-furore-carries-echoes-of-horizon-scandal

We had it happen with one stamp out of a book of 6.  Highly embarrassing to find out that a family member had to pay £5 to get their birthday card.

I must check mine.  I sent in £200 worth having bought 1st and 2nd class stamps a few years before.  Used to send out about 60 Christmas cards each year and now perhaps 15 or so.My exchange stamps were returned in 2 batches but only 1 lot received.  After several calls and being told to wait 3 weeks or so longer, I eventually received a scruffy brown envelope with a mix of stamps in retail sizes of 4 or 8 stamps.  I had to buy a plastic box in which to store this lot.

The barcode print on a genuine stamp should feel slightly raised also theperforations should be box shape at corners, the counterfeit have spikyperforations.
