Chiswick High Road - buses diverted eastbound for a week

Routes 237, 267 and H91 are diverted eastbound away from Chiswick High Road at Chiswick Roundabout and will not serve the Power Road, Gunnersbury Station and Chiswick Road stops.Contrary to the notices displayed on bus stops it seems that route 110 is similarly affected this morning - not sure why TfL initially thought it would not be.Diversion last until approx 6pm Tuesday 9th April due to Thames Water works.Westbound seems to be ok, will report back later.Not sure what the situation is for ordinary traffic.

If you are driving in towards Chiswick from the west on the A4 you will might be directed up the NCR. This happens alot now if the High Road is congested anyway. There was a big queue earlier back from the right filter lane into Gunnersbury Lane which seems to be a tailback from a set of contraflow traffic lights on Gunnersbury Lane itself.

Little work going on when I passed by yesterday. I wonder if the contractors have downed tools due to non-payment because of Thames Water's financial problems?

I have observed that also.It interests me that the work site is outside The Royal Embassy of the Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau.... which was built on the former site of St James' Church.

The High Road is very clear all the time at the moment so, for people in Chiswick at least, the tube strike might not be so painful. I would assume they will do all they can to complete the job by this weekend anyway.

Perfectly timed to overlap with the tube strike on Monday 8th April.  My usual plan B of picking up one of those buses at Gunnersbury to get into Hammersmith completely scuppered.  Great.

Thank you for your informative heads up about the eastbound diversion Adrian.I was thus au fait with my eastwards trip at lunchtime ...fascinated that the H91 passed by Harvard Hill (my birthplace 85 years ago!) and that the Coffee Shop on Fromows Corner looked very busy.

TfL bus status update webpage for 237,267 and H91 states:CHISWICK HIGH ROAD, W4: From 06:00 Tuesday 02 April until approximately 18:00 Tuesday 09 April, ROUTES 237 267 H91 and N9 towards White City or Hammersmith are on diversion via A4 Great West Road, Sutton Court Road, Heathfield Terrace and Sutton Lane North due to Thames Water works taking place, resulting in a closure of Chiswick High Road eastbound at Chiswick Roundabout. Bus stops 'Thorney Hedge Road' (K), 'Gunnersbury Station' (B) and 'Chiswick Road' (S) will be missed while the bus diverts.

Update - route 110 is on diversion eastbound but still serving all stops eastbound via a very circuitous route with journey times extended.  TfL bus status website in relation to 110 eastbound:CHISWICK HIGH ROAD, W4: From 06:00 Tuesday 02 April until approximately 18:00 Tuesday 09 April, ROUTE 110 towards Hammersmith is on diversion via A4 Great West Road, Sutton Court Road, Heathfield Terrace, Wellesley Road and Oxford Road North due to Thames Water works taking place, resulting in a closure of Chiswick High Road eastbound at Chiswick Roundabout. No bus stops will be missed while the bus diverts, however, please allow extra time for your journey.
