Gang of thieves in the area

Just saw this on 'NextDoor':Please up your security. We had a burglary in our neighbourhood in Chiswick this Thursday around 18:40 and within 10 minutes, 4 people had broken into the property through the back door and stolen multiple items including car keys. According to the police, there is a gang of around 80 people operating in the Hounslow, Ealing and Hillingdon areas. No arrests have been made.

This sounds like misinformation to me. While burglary is a serious problem and people need to be on their guard, it is very unlikely that a large organised gang are operating in the area. It is a low reward/high risk crime so not something that professional criminals tend to engage in in an opportunistic way. Most burglars these days tend to be people with addiction issues so do be careful but don't be scared.

I’d be happy to pay more taxes if it meant that the NHS wasn’t in such a state that one of my colleagues could not be operated due to lifts out of action (happened last week) or schools weren’t crumbling, public transport worked etc. etc..

"I've just seen my new council tax bill."You mean you agree with what council tax you're gonna have to pay this coming year or you want it higher? It's never going to go lower & that's a fact. More taxation, more bills, the UK is all about how much more draconian taxation, charges, parking, etc, that it can continue to ram down peoples' throat's and people willingly accept and pay? It shouldn't affect too many people in Hounslow's wealthiest borough though.

Does not say and it does not say where the idea of a 80 strong gang comes from in the nextdoor post.Im sure i would have found out googling but nothing.If it comes from the police i would have found it. But around 80 gangs are known across the whole of greater london
