Streatham LTN scrapped

Good to see that within 24 hours of scrapping the LTN Streatham returns to normal better flowing traffic. Shame for those few who thought they’d got a private estate by stealth on the tax payer but a result for the majority rest.

Interesting to see this topical study to prove that LTN's will save the world through the huge health gains generated by them:https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/mar/08/health-gains-of-low-traffic-schemes-up-to-100-times-greater-than-costs-study-finds..though isn't Prof Rachel Aldred of Westminster University and Director of the 'Active Travel Agency', the report's author, a well known pro-cycling and 'active travel' lobbyist, so she would say that, wouldn't she.

Saturdays and Sundays have been bad for traffic in that area for many years. Admittedly I haven’t ventured there post Covid but assume it’s got a lot worse, hence the decision to suspend LTNs

Do you think it will come back after the A23 works have finished? Lambeth say that it's "suspended". That could be the council trying to save face of course.PS I've driven a few times through Streatham on Sunday Afternoons (pre-Covid). It was awful back then, and that was pre any LTNs.
