Travelling to slow on the underground!

I did not know you could be fined if you take too long to get to your destination.

Few years ago when I travelled to west croydon I was overcharged on exit at the station, there had been a 20 min delay on route. I phoned TFL who reimbursed the extra charge because it was not my fault. I was told if you spend too much time going from entry to exit you will be charged extra unless they are at fault.

And you tap in,get on the platform,times and trains do jiggery pokery on the board for 5 mins,no announcements and then the richmond bound train becomes a ealing train which never turns up either 20 mins later get told services suspended.Tap out for alternative transport and your charged for going knowhere. Then try and get your money back on that scenario.

There are maximum (very generous) journey times. You aren't 'fined' if you exceed these, but you may be charged two maximum pay as you go fares.
