Was it ‘Just a minute’ that had a version of that as its theme tune? Or was it another programme?

I remember our typing pool at Beecham House. You had to keep on the right side of the lady in charge (always a lady) otherwise your work always remained at the bottom of the pile.

Hi Sammy, I know Louise has tried to DM you but it hasn’t worked for her. Her work email is louise@mjfinncommercial.co.uk if you want to reach out direct to her or share your email with me. ATB, Jojo
That is a sound that is most definitely now missing from offices and from the knowledge of so many people.

Sounds like a promising solution.I originally learnt to type on a manual typewriter. We had to type to music on I think one day a week. Our favourite was the Steptoe & Son theme tune. Just imagine a whole class typing to that! In the class there was one electric typewriter which which we could all aspire to using but only the best typists got to use. It was a golfball. How things have changed since then!

Brilliant! I live on Turnham Green Terrace and I work on Chiswick Lane, so I can pop over whenever suits you really. When would be the best for you? Best regards,Sammy

Good to see people using typewriters.Came across this very interessting article the other day:https://nationalpost.com/feature/this-is-my-destiny-a-clattering-tale-about-typewriters-and-the-people-who-have-loved-and-hated-them/wcm/8c53faa8-93da-4ee4-9494-d3f206cf8765In it there was this poem.“Ode to a Typewriter”: Instrument of my despair,Frankly you get in my hair.I must sit and make you clatterWhile my hips grow slowly fatter.Just when there is most to doYou always strip a gear or two;I would like to wring your neck,But I need that weekly cheque.
