The Chiswick Cinema
On Thursday a friend suggested going to the cinema and Friday morning I had a look on what was on offer.I was pleasantly surprise to see the selection. All of us strangers, American Fiction, One life, Poor Things, The Holdovers and The zone of interest. All given 4 or 5 stars by the Guardian. 4 nominated for best film at the Oscars. Then I looked at the on-line availability and I was shocked to see only 107 tickets out of 1772 had been booked = about 8%I looked further and saw Wonka was still on Saturday and Sunday around 10:30 in morning at full price, which is £18.50 for adults and £14 for a child = £34.40 incl b/f. This should surely have been at £6 Kids Club price, considering the film is now available to rent by stream at £16 or £20 to own.FYI the auditorium used had 98 seats and so far I could see only 3 bookings each screening.I looking again this morning. Same films as on Friday. 59 seats booked on-line out of 1155 available = about 5%I can only assume not many goes to the cinema, book on-line but just turn up or prefer brain candy and look elsewhere? If we don't use it, we will will lose it, so I like to know why you don't go and if not what would make you go?
