How many would prefer more safety, not less?A blind man was confused and in danger when he exited a bus on Chiswick High Road and found he had to cross the bidirectional C9 Cycle Lane order to safely reach the pavement. So rainbow crossings cost how much? And achieve what? We are already an accepting nation where the LGB community is concerned. I think this group would prefer these huge sums to be better used.  Plus if it’s confusing and dangerous it’s not even under the heading of harmless

'Harping on' is a favourite pastime on here for some, so what would else would they do if they can't talk tittle-tattle and  what their gay mates find abhorrent, aka talking for the entire LGBTQ+ community? [Rhetorical question]

It is well researched and documented that people do not like change.  This increases as we age espcially when we have held very bigoted views as a younger person.  It is fear that makes it so the fear of something different to us something other, unknown and often that leads to some very reactionary behaviours. People can be taught to embrace change and see it as growth not the stiflement of ones percieved known world. The very obvious harping on about an issue is an evident marker for fear of change and therefore antagonism to growth to diversity and to the opening up and celebration of our world for all who are in it

It was everything for me Janice. Yes the cost was eye watering. A road crossing is there for a purpose, in the Highway Code. Changing the colour was confusing and therefore possibly life endangering. Police horses  and dogs were frightened. So why????

Mark Frost explain your comment.  If you can. I have exceptionally good gay friends , who abhor the rainbow crossings. They think they’re are pointless and just as being gay was no longer a big dealIt’s suddenly is an issue again. They certainly can think of better ways of spending the money. If it’s not an official road marking,  what is it, street art? In which case it should not be where a crossing was previously.So back in your box dearie

Does it matter what the colour of the roadway inside a pedestrian crossing is? The instructional markings are the stop line for the vehicular carriageway and the dotted lines marking the boundary of the pedestrian walkway. The roadway colour could vary based on materials used.
