Anna  Instead of posting all this conspiracy theory rubbish including about "making us eat insects" perhaps you should check up on some facts.There is a good map on the internet showing all the countries where insects are deliberately eaten and in fact considered a delicacy in many places.  Unless the post Brexit legislation has caught up you'll find that the EU is now leading in insect farming in Europe and the UK remains with just cheese mites being considered as food.  There was a west London insect farm which has now closed. Changes in weather mean changes in farming - not just for us but for the other protein that we eat.

Insects are good protein.  They have been deliberately eaten in countries all over the world for ever.  We used to be able to deliberately eat home grown farmed ones here until Brexit when farms closed.  Mass spraying with dangerous chemicals all over the world has not only deprived  people of this important source of protein but made people ill.  Even if people don't already eat or want to eat insects as part of their diet they are an important part of the food chain for other animals and birds.  You really ought to know this already.  When there are changes in the weather and climate it can mean that there aren't the insects for birds to feed their newly hatched young with and so those baby birds die - as happened with blue tits here inbthe UK in particular several years ago.  Farmers are having to change the way and what they farm to deal with the weather.

I have seen the Polish farmers stopping trains with grain from Ukraine and tipping it out as its cheaper than Polish grain.

PeterSweden7  twitter  February 26th'Swedish farmers have now joined the protest.Farmers in 20 European countries have taken to the streets to protest against unfair policies.These protests are historic and yet you see hardly anything about it on the news. This all comes back to the UN Agenda 2030 whose plan is that you will eat fake meat and insects.Stalin called farmers 'the enemies of the people'- the communists seized the farmers land and the result was that millions of people starved to death.Farmers are once again being painted to you as 'enemies of the people'.

Did you know we import 80% of our food ? Thats food we could be growing here.Did you know around 75% of UK land is agricultural land ? - but our govt deliberately pays farmers to "rewild" the land so as to prevent food being grown on it for us.Did you know our govt and some of our supermarkets have been screwing over our farmers for years !

Do you not think that Fox Business might have some angle on over promoting the role of Republican politicians in this matter?The line you quote is not a fact but the opinion of Will Hild, the chief executive of a far right anti-climate change lobby group.It may well be that potential legal entanglements were considered in when JP Morgan made this move but they will also now face potentially much bigger problems from pension fund trustee clients whose business they may have won through membership of this climate group. You need to pay attention to what JP Morgan are saying - they are not disputing the importance of avoiding in a way that increases damage to the planet but rather say they are setting up their own stewardship arrangements to make sure they don't do this. The truth is normally found in the most straightforward explanation which is that they feel their performance has been harmed by restrictions on how much of their portfolios they can put in fossil fuel energy companies.

As with so much you post this is based on a complete absence of any knowledge of what you are talking about. There is no such thing as an 'anti-trust administrator'.The Climate Action 100+ group is an attempt to get fund management groups to reduce investments in industries that are harmful to the environment.Financial companies are about as capable of caring about the environment as your dishwasher. They exist to make money for their clients and themselves.However, some of their clients, particularly the trustees of large pension funds, who have members who are actively lobbying for disinvestment in fossil fuels, want to see their money invested in a way that doesn't harm the planet.Your reference to 'anti-trust adminstrators' is probably a confusion with moves by some Republican legislators in the US to claim Climate Action 100+ is a cartel. This is probably a non-starter and irrelevant.I suspect that relative investment returns for members of this group have been poor recently due to the rising price of oil and they have been losing clients. Therefore their fund managers have been asking for more flexibility in choosing their investments.The notion that this represents some sort of sea change in the approach of big business to climate change is just delusional.

Farmers often voted for Brexit so they lost their CAP payment. So its no good them thinking they were going to get much support from the government. Remember the £1.25 billion a month for the health service? Did not happen.

You can buy more local food if you join a vegbox scheme (and many include recipes) but sadly many people seem to have never been taught to cook here in the UK.  Living in London I wish it was easier to see in the supermarkets what is in season and sourced more locally than the airport.I also spent a long time looking for a good poster showing when and what vegetables and fruit are in season but couldn't find anything that I wanted to put on the kitchen wall.  I still end up referring to a website called Eat the Seasons.

I voted to stay out of the EEC in 1973, partly because of the French protectionist agricultural system (CAP).A democratic vote took GB in then, and after a wait of 43 years a democratic vote took us out of the renamed EU in 2016.

Regarding the UK, last year the Gov. said we were self sufficient in wheat,most meats and eggs, why would we change that,  I am vegetarian but surely being self sufficient is important to us.

I have seen dozens of reports about these protests on 'mainstream media' over the past few days and the very excellent Euronews covers them almost daily. Just this morning there was an in depth interview with a fifth generation French farmer explaining why they were protesting. Stop repeating nonsense you have found on social media.
