Homeless folk in freezing temperatures - we must do more

I noticed that the gentleman who used to shelter at the Catholic Centre social club on Dukes Ave is now seemingly sleeping rough at the bus stop. In this weather, we should not sit by and see people suffer like this. Can’t the Catholic Church open its doors and provide a roof over his head whilst conditions are so harsh? If not, what can the council do? Happy to have my taxes spent on helping folk like this rather than the various woke initiatives that attract big budgets these days!

A lot of them don't like being with other people and why they are out on their own for many different reasons, it is not a lifestyle choice because they refuse a hostel place, if they had a chance of a place to be alone I'msure they would take it.  Somewhere safe at night and out of the oold.  Something suitable would be those small chalets they had in the holiday camps but obviously not possible sadly.

You could refer to Streetlink - they will come out and assess people and give you feedback. Check on line. Local churches were also providing a bed, shower & supper on a rolling basis 7 nights pw, though I don't know if they are still doing it. Some people sadly refuse help but it's always worth a try.
