I'm still unclear what the intention was in putting the focus on these three women. During the period that the trio were messing things up scores of men in similar positions of authority were doing just as badly. There are some who won't accept or understand this so I don't think the original post was very well thought out.

The words racism and misogyny are sometimes used as a smokescreen and to deflect genuine and even handed criticism of behaviour back onto the accuser.The art is to spot when this is happening.To use those words as an excuse for abhorrent behaviour is disgraceful as it only makes cases of those who have experienced genuine racism of sexism more difficult to prove imo.Misandry is never mentioned,but exists in many cases,not least on this forum.

Agree Maggie but would say with a lot of cases or just things that have happened not specifically this case it seems to be mostly women at the brunt of it so can see why Robert could think that way.

The word 'velophobia' should be banned', along with 'misogyny'. There's no justification for repressing perfectly normal instincts.

The word misogyny should be banned. Along with racism. If someone does something appalling it’s irrelevant what their sex is or their colour. If they are proved innocent they are just that . also regardless.

Robert, Alison Rose "excessively pilloried".She was the head of Coutes bank who broke the confidentiality code when disclosing a client's bank balance over a boozy dinner.Moreover she conspired to debank hundreds of bankers whose personal views, primarily on politics, didn't match hers and her fellow corporate cronies.Unfortunately for her she chose Nigel Farage.Silly move.

Nothing to see, really. My first reaction on hearing the clamour against Paula Vennells was that perhaps there was an element of misogyny in it, similarly for Claudine Gay (with an added element of racism?). However, the more I read about them, the more the clamour seems justified. Of the three women, perhaps only Alison Rose was excessively pilloried.
