Think the outbreaks have mostly been in large building but there are risks of it in the home, I have set the heating at 65 now.  Thank you all.

We have a hot water tank and a gas boiler both set at 60c, the hot water tank has its own thermostat (don’t they all?).  A heating engineer once told me the water should be heated to a higher temperature than this once a week to prevent legionnaires. I’d forgotten this advice until reading Janice’s post. Have there been any recorded legionnaires from a domestic water system?

Sixty degrees might be a good setting for your central heating, but not for tap water unless it’s stored in a cylinder.  Combi boilers create hot water straight from the mains so Legionaires’ disease isn’t an issue.  Setting hot water to 60 will seriously burn, so around 45 degrees is the recommended safe maximum temperature for hot water to come out of the tap.

"Which mentions temperature and legionnaire's disease."Viessmann's mention of legionnaires' disease is only in connection with systems with a hot water tank.  For combi boilers without a hot water tank, it's best to consult your boiler manufacturer's site.  I have a Vaillant combi boiler, and Vaillant recommend a boiler temperature of 60 to 70C, or even lower in spring or autumn, down to 50 to 55C, particularly if you have a well-insulated house.  My insulation is "traditional", like much of Chiswick, and my boiler temperature is set at 60.
