Recommendations for Afternoon Tea/Dinner in South Kensington

Does anyone have any recommendations for afternoon tea or dinner around the South Ken area please?  A client is staying at a hotel in South Ken (Gloucester Road is the nearest underground) and we are planning to meet for afternoon tea or dinner this week (not sure which, it depends on their work schedule).  I haven't been to that area for quite a while, so any recommendations for a nice place to take a youngish (thirties) American client, not too stuffy but reasonably elegant, midrange and that's not too noisy (the restaurant, not the client) so we can talk, would be gratefully received. HUX American Brasserie at 25-35 Gloucester Road, South Kensington, London SW7 4PL. Near junction with Elvaston Place.I don't know about afternoon tea as I'm normally there late evening after a concert at the Royal Albert Hall or the Royal College of Music. It fits your requirements, not too stuffy but reasonably elegant and not too noisy. I was a bit concerned by the change to the "American" label, but I've been there 10 times and Hux is definitely a favourite of mine.

The Ampersand Hotel on Harrington Road does a range of themed Afternoon teas reflecting the location near the museums. Very diffent but the teas are award winning.
