Recycle laptop lithium battery.

I have replaced the lithium battery in my laptop and looking for somewhere in Chiswick to dispose of or recycle the old one. Cancer Research say their charity shops recycle them, but the one at 278 Chiswick High Road cannot find the box, and the one at 392 do not offer a recycling service. Sainsburys only take ordinary batteries like AA. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Great News!I've eventually emailed Deirdre Costigan of Ealing Council about this.  Next I'll have to get around to emailing Guy Lambert of Hounslow Council.  It really ought to be easier to do so as to avoid them going in the general waste with the chance of them causing fires in the collection vehicles.

LB Hounslow's Space Waye takes all sorts of batteries - but check their website as you need to book.Richmond's Townmead Road takes car batteries...I wish they were ALL much clearer on exactly which ones they were taking and how they should be presented!  Townmead Road had a fire fairly recently which is thought to probably have been caused by a lithium battery.You need to book but you may find that it is easier to talk to them first.I'm pretty sure these batteries should go into a special  container rather than just the cardboard box that some shops are using.https://www.jungheinrich-profishop.co.uk/en/profi-guide/lithium-battery-disposal/There is some info on the taping over of the terminals and putting in a plastic bag on the above website.This website is useful:https://www.recycleyourelectricals.org.uk/electrical-recycling-near-me/B&Q is actually listed as taking computer batteries as well as the usual AA AAAs etc:https://www.diy.com/services/weeeGood luck!

Have you tried Robert Dyas?  Or better still a Mobile Phone or Computer Shop - Curry's?  This has been on my To Do List for a while as we have had an old smoke detector with wired in lithium battery that needs disposing of.  Ealing's Greenford Recycling Centre says NO Lithium batteries despite the fact that they YES to mobile phones last time I looked.  That doesn't compute.
