Acton Post Office

Hello all,If you live in the Chiswick part which is near Acton, remember that the Post Office are monitoring footfall to the Banking Hub in The Oaks.I think that the footfall on the High Street has changed since the Cinema surely attract new customers as does the Banking Hub itself. Please do  visit the Post Office in the next week to help reduce the chance of them closing it.Thanks,Gary

Gary's original post is a mangled version of something that Maire Lowe posted on the Acton forum.Just to be clear, the Acton Banking Hub isn't a Post Office although you can make transactions on Post Office accounts there but you can't, for instance, post a letter. The Post Office are monitoring footfall with the possibility that services will be boosted if they see evidence of the hub being well used.

Cllr Malcolm needs to clarify his post as it is very confusing. What I think he is getting at is that the Post Office may expand services at the Banking Hub if it is convinced it is getting sufficient footfall. That would be good news.On the relative merits of Acton and Chiswick, I'm amazed Julian doesn't go to the former. My life has reorientated north since lockdown, partially due to the difficult of getting to Chiswick since the closure of Fishers Lane and partly due to the need to reduce bills. Since I cook much more than I did in the past I've realised that it is a much better destination to buy stuff than Chiswick in terms of choice as well as price. It also has a very pleasant and reasonably priced cinema and free parking.

'Never visited Acton'?Seven train stations, Six salubrious pubs,Five coffee shops. Four supermarkets,Three chicken hovels Two derelict banks and a Mosque in a state of disrepair.

Gary says there is a banking hub in The Oaks. It’s a mini mall in the middle of Acton High Street . There’s a Lidl, Iceland, Superdrug and there was a Wilko. Free short term Parking on site. I used it a lot when i got  fed up with Chiswick. Worth checking it outs it’s walking distance from Acton green or on the E3 bus route

Ive no idea where the oaks shopping centre is or the post office,never visit acton HR. But is gary not saying the post office are monitoring footfall at the oaks in a possible move to the oaks thus closing the post office ?

No. The banking hub is in the Oaks shopping centre. Post Office is misleading.

I personally find that the best Post Office Counter in the Region is in Isleworth ... just along from the Station ... and on 237 bus route.Bentalls in Kingston is on the ball too. Having a Freedom Pass helps.Let's hope the Acton Branch pulls the crowds in.
