Cheese!

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum! I wondered if any of you are going to the Cheese Tasting tomorrow during Chiswick Cheese Market at the George IV? I'm very excited to meet the hosts, they're quite well known in the cheese industry.I don't know the area well and would be great to meet some locals as I will be traveling to the area more for work over the next few months.Thanks Kerry

I don’t actually care, of course I know the cycle lobby play dirty. It’s the daft that it was about the cheese market of all world shattering topics😂and I don’t think he mentioned my objection to the loss of the car park.which was the main point. I’ll see if I can check that, or maybe illlet Ed defend himself on that point . It’s al to juvenile to waste time on.

Sounds like it puts the Chiswick cheese market to shame.  Car park nearby and alternative routes. Is the cycle lane shut too?

Yes, King Street has been going car-free for Christmas Markets for quite a few years now (I remember one in 2016 I think) and so has North End Road.  North End Road already had a very old and established market where we used to shop many years ago when we lived in the area but apparently now has car-free markets too.https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/food-and-drink/london-oldest-markets-north-end-road-130-birthday-vegan-food-fulham-a7960916.html

Oh the irony of Chiswick W4's biggest moaner presuming to call others "sad people"! And the ludicrousness of the idea that people would go to all the trouble of setting up a market just to render car parking spaces unusable. Maggie, you have excelled yourself!

The markets are partly designed to remove the opportunity to use what is actually a car park. They go all out to make them successful. Sad people. Plenty of other possible locations but they use a much needed car park

I really enjoyed the cheese market; the last time I went they had a steel drum band playing, I think it was performed by local school kids with an adult leader. I really liked the community atmostphere, it felt like a cheerful place to linger. I have no shares in the cheese industry by the way !  It was just by chance I passed by there that Sunday.

Welcome to the area Kerry! Hope you enjoyed the cheese market. Chiswick has a lot of great places to explore for eating, walking and sport. George IV do a brilliant comedy and burlesque night. Lots of great grocers, butchers and fishmongers. And more coffee shops than you’d imagine! Wishing you a warm welcome.
