World Pancreatic Cancer Day

Today is world Pancreatic Cancer Day, and to help mark the occasion and promote awareness of Pancreatic Cancer Christ Church on Turnham Green has kindly lit their entrance way in pink/ purple lighting. I remember hearing Dame Deborah James say that one of her symptoms was the change in her bowel movements - "I started needing to go for a poo seven or eight times a day when I'd always been a once a day girl".  That was bowel cancer but I notice that it can also be a symptom of other cancers including pancreatic cancer.Do check out the warning signs.  It is something that doctors often seem to miss.

I was privileged to know 2 lovely people in Grove Park who both died from pancreatic cancer, the timescale from diagnosis to death was shocking to me; 3 weeks and 6 weeks respectively. They are much missed.
