There's an undeniable truth that the peloton crowd in Richmond (or in Regents Park) can be very unfriendly. I love cycling there, especially on the gravel Tamsin trail, but in fairness I do it only very early in the morning between April and July when it's bright way before 'normal' people come around. Later the gravel path sees quite too much footfall, and I'd rather not inconvenience dog walkers, runners and so on, and the road becomes just too competitive for my taste. Too many clubs, too many flashy bikes, too much of that "if you don't have the best gear don't show up" attitude. The saddest thing is that a large chunk of those people will drive to Richmond!So, I don't have any trouble imaging some being rude to others. It's sad, considering how kind cyclists are elsewhere not just in the world, but just outside London. Must be a city thing.On the other hand, as somebody who predominantly rides to commute to work, it's REALLY hard not to get worked up sometimes. I try not to get it on my nerves, but at the third time that somebody pulls up in front of you, parks on a lane, or just turns without indicating, checking or crosses the road randomly without checking it's hard not keep cool.
