Dentists

I’ll probably be struck off now - but waiting to see my dentist- I saw the dentist on the nhs for exactly 3 minutes after not seeing him for 6 months -   Charged £25 for the privilege- I’m sure I’m lucky to still be with the nhs but this is how things are going ... a broken Britain .

Presumably that was for a check up and does seem inordinately quick. My NHS dentist takes more like 10 minutes (although I've never timed it). I have noticed that the old practice of calling out each tooth no. in turn to the dental nurse is no longer done - whether this is to speed things up or was just decided to be unnecessary in the end is another matter - things change. As part of a check up, my dentist also sometimes takes an x-ray if a tooth is raising suspicion. She also at times gives a bit of a clean.

Many NHS dentists went private as the work was no longer viable.

I have a friend whose dentist refused to see her during the pandemic, saying he was only doing emergency work. Then he wrote saying he'd removed her from his list as she hadn't been for two years!

Just before Covid I had a crown on a side tooth which broke within a monththen came Covid and he didn't want to renew it, I ended up losing that toothhe never honour the guarantee and swiftly retired, now under new management.
