That’s just an extension of the argument that girls shouldn’t go out at night or walk down the street, or dress in a certain way, etc., ‘as they must know what to expect’, when it’s men’s behaviour and attitudes that need to change. You’re right that many people knew Russell Brand was ‘like that’ and his claim to fame was being ‘outspoken’, but many organisations still employed him because he was so ‘popular’ - which is the depressing bit.
