Annoying not to have access to the lake for dogs on a hot Sunday. Why do they have to spoil everyone else's fun?
Claire Moran ● 1111d
Maybe because the event generates money for the Chiswick House and Gardens Trust that is then put back into Chiswick House and Gardens?

Until locals want to stump up for the upkeep of what it a fantastic amenity, let's grin and bear the odd inconvenience.

Don’t forget the events offer a fantastic opportunity for locals to enjoy so let’s not be too selfish, they only happen mainly in the summer. So enjoy them.

I didn't think dogs were allowed in the lake?
Rob Reynolds ● 1110d
Is there another source of drinking water for dogs in the park?
Richard Greenhough ● 1110d
Yes. There are bowls around the cafe, near the lake.
Thinking about it, and not that many do but if water for the dog is very important, would one not carry a portable dog water dispenser?Just splashing it out there as a thought

Dogs are not supposed to go in the lake given all the wildlife and swans can be particularly aggressive towards dogs and attempt to drown them so don’t let your dog in the lake and if it does go in check for swans. Responsible dog owners do carry portable water dispensers you are correct Julian. As someone previously stated there are water bowls around the cafe.
And if it’s a hot day then surely you should be walking a dog in the early morning or evening.
