This is a great shame.It's the only place I have found in London these last 46 years that sells meat and potato pies, a almost staple food where I am from.The chap who ran the bakery there was from Accrington and the pies and everything else I bought there were very good.Shame, I will miss it.

I was in there earlier this week and asked about the big sign outside advertising the freehold. I was told Ian the owner is retiring but what happens next appears a bit unclear. There is a possibility it might shut at the weekend either permanently or temporarilily. Maybe too early to write it off just yet. Fingers crossed.

Big Ian has been very ill of late and this prompted his retirement.He ran a good shop and will be missed by many.

Hope another cafe proprietor takes it over. Lovely bread, and the little cafe is very popular, with a few outside tables in an area North of the High Road without much trade unless you walk to the end of Southfield Road and go down Acton Lane which is much busier and not nearly as nice to sit outside with a coffee and a snack.

I recall times past when Ian worked there with his senior colleague Bruce Duff after whom the business was probably named.Their mince pies at Christmastime were a knock out and Plum Duff made up boxes boxes of six plain and six puff which I was able to distribute to my customers and staff over many years.They would have supplied me with over 10,000 pies over the years!

You have been through it, my partner had sepsis was on anti-biopics for one week and that took an awful lot out of him. Hope you improve in time.

Bless you Janice. It left me bald (some has regrown) with discitis due to a previously unrecorded side-effect and immobility and with venous leg sores that are still being treated with..... antibiotics🤣.Sepsis as a result of a 2.5kg liver abscess which originated from a mutated leprosy virus which could have lain dormant for thirty years. Still, I'm here typing this which was definitely not the prognosis on admission.
Never heard of leprosy virus, they never actually diagnosed how my partner got sepsis, he suffered headaches after and limb weakness buthas improved over the years it was some time ago now.
It's also known as Hansen's disease yes I do know of it.
