Not Chiswick, which I know is what you asked for, but The Gate in nearby Hammersmith is good.

Not Chiswick but Bronek'son Northfield Avenue Ealing is an excellent fish restaurant. Postions are generous, prices realistic and there are wonderful daily specials.

Thanks again, all. It needs to be Chiswick this time, but The Gate definitely sounds worth a visit, so we will keep it in mind for a future occasion.
Have a look at the menu for Capri Restaurant on Turnham Green Terrace. Lot of fish and not much meat. Was good when we went there, and we have three veggie offspring.
