(Prudish velophobes with an authoritarian disposition look away now)It's World Naked Bike Ride London tomorrow.In previous years some of our most ardent and committed local cycling obsessives have got very excited about it. Rumour has it there is a meeting point at Kew Bridge so do get along and support all the riders. The mangoes have never been juicier.

Amongst the many made up reasons for this flesh fest, cyclists safety is on the list.  So these cyclists ride about without any protective clothing, the majority probably without a helmet , in the name of safety.  You could not make it up. I saw one photo that I'm trying to forget.  An elderly chap with rolls of spare flesh with a big grin on his face, no idea what he was looking at, if you get my drift.  Also strangely the photographers cleverly manage to hide all genitalia in the photos, why is that, when these people are flaunting it all.  Strange

Every year there is an outpouring of disgust at the Naked cyclists exhibitionists rally. There is supposed to be a purpose behind it, a message.  Some kind of protest, nobody knows or cares, so does it achieve anything?  It brings out the negative in the majority, same with JSO.  They encourage spectators, if you don't cycle come and watch.  Really!  What kind of people want to watch, voyeurs getting off on the naked bodies? Do you think they are getting the message, will it encourage anyone to cycle that doesn't already? I suggest it achieves nothing but gratification for some undesirables. Are there any other groups worldwide trying to get their message across in this way.  Probably not, only the cycle lobby. A law unto themselves as always.

How can you possibly know that Anne.  Were you there at every ride. Did you inspect everybody and check their "credentials".  You remind me of another one of your clan, who thinks she knows exactly where every driver is going and how far they are driving.  Do you seriously think the idea of naked bodies on show won't attract pervs?  What world do you live in.  Did you attend, were you naked.  Did you take the family?  Do the participants take their children, after all its just a giggle apparently for children to see naked flesh in every shape size and gender. Or is it only ok for the unsuspecting families whose children are subjected to this view by chance, rather than intent?

Interesting attempt at excuses for the nakedness, by cyclists,  on the internet.  One is, "good way to get some sun on your skin".  The next one was, that "cyclists are not seen and this way they are noticed".  I could suggest wearing orange curly wigs.  Clown costumes, no end of other less offensive ways of being "seen".  Helmets and lights even, there's a novel idea.

For both males and females. This is normally enhanced by the wearing of Lycra. But on naked cycling day these auto-eroticists get their once-a-year chance to let it all hang out, celebrate in the saddle and wave their flag proudly.  Velophilia is real and should have equal rights alongside LBGTQI+ and allies.

Advice on line for those taking part in the naked cycle event. Plan for the After PartyOnce you finish standing up for the environment, you're sure going to need a beer. Just be sure you bring socially acceptable clothing for post-ride activities. Nude is cool during the ride, but not always at the bar after.Can anyone explain who says its ok to stand naked in the street, with everything hanging out, then ride through the streets naked.  But, its not acceptable to stand at a bar naked? Why is that?  Because its generally not acceptable to be naked in public?

Exactly Philippa, designated areas, duly signed I assume.  Not wandering around willy nilly for the unsuspecting to come across.  Remind me in this hot weather why are cyclists or other people, for that matter, not wandering around naked? Do you wander naked, did you take part in the naked cycle ride?  Is it because in general its not acceptable and normally considered offensive.  It achieves absolutely nothing for your cause,  but allows exhibitionists and voyeurs to have a day when they can do what they can't otherwise get away with.

It's not the right thing to do concerning children, how are they supposed to identify when someone is flashing, grooming or whatever if this is supposedto be normal which it isn't and never should be, other than nudist camps ordesignated areas.

WILLY NILLY! I hope that was deliberate but I have a sneaking feeling not.It's not illegal to appear nude in public - apparently. There may, however, be something about offending public decency. You, for example, appear offended by the very idea. I was there and it didn't seem so very peculiar and the participants weren't in one's face (you wish) or anything. It would take some balls to do it though, eh?

Willy nilly, you don't think that was intentional, what planet are you on Anne?Try as you might to defend this naked cycling malarkey, there's an obvious reason why this causes outrage from the more decent amongst us, and a reason people don't generally walk about naked, any idea why that is?  I'll give you a week or two to think about it.  Where you naked Anne? Anne, there are places you can go like nudist camps and not inflict onothers, I don't object to nude swimming in clubs etc., because it's not the norm at public pools.  Personally I wouldn't go and watch anything likethat.
