I am not so sure that is the case in the borough of Ealing. To date, the present Labour run Ealing Council have shown themselves to be just running dogs for any old developer. One now, hopefully, failed attempt was to redevelop Ealing Town Hall into a boutique hotel, and giving away the Victoria Hall part of it away to the developers, Mastcraft, in the process. The council has spent £3million of the peoples' money pushing this vanity project and it’s not clear if the £350,000 indemnity promised to Mastcraft if the hotel wasn’t built will be paid. The redevelopment of the Friary Park Estate, in Acton, with Mount Anvil developers is a promenant example of how Labour run Ealing Council are a running dog for developers. One exception to this could be John Lewis/Waitrose in West Ealing wanting to redevelop their shop site there. It seems that for political virtue signalling reasons, Ealing Council Leader Peter Mason has condemned them. This while his council has allowed other high rise death trap council tax farm rabbit hutch homes to be approved and built nearby.Otherwise, this present Labour run Ealing Council have shown themselves to be just running dogs for any old developer under the sun!
