I used to know someone who worked for Chipsaway...He said that you should ask whether they use oil based or water based paint. If, for example, the scratch is on a door or bonnet then water based paint should be OK as the surface is unlikely to need to be able to flex. If, however, the scratch is on the bumpers then oil based paint is better as it's more resilient to flexing and impact...Of course, since then (about 15 years ago) perhaps water based paint has improved...
