Councillor Biddolph selective reporting

For some reason in her newsletter today here on CW4, Biddolph celebrates only 2 of the 3 local Chiswickians given Hounslow Mayor awards on Friday.She completely omitted to celebrate the award also to local resident Karen Liebreich for her years of voluntary service locally in improving the environment here in Chiswick, via planting, community arts, local markets and Abundance London activities.  Tells us lots about Councillor Biddolph - Why the selective reporting? One can only presume she does this in all her writing/public pronouncements.

Richard,Thank you for the link.  I am so glad Jill Spencer has been recognised for all that she does for the Chiswick Community (silently and so humbly not just the Litterpick / Repair Cafe etc).  The article on today's W4 Front Page does not mention Jill at all and therefore I think it is incorrect to assume that Councillor Biddolphs reporting was selective.

Mitra - you are being too kind.  Biddolph was present in person at the event, she described her colleagues dances, and therefore saw all three Chiswick residents win their awards but decided only to comment on two for some reason !!

Ashley, perhaps instead of ploughing in with a large wooden spoon, you could've paused to reflect that Cllr Biddolph commented on the 2 award winners who are residents in Gunnersbury Chiswick Ward who she represents together with Cllr Ron Mushiso and Cllr Ranjit Gill. Doesn't Karen Liebreich reside in Grove Park ?

Karen wasn't included in the Councillor's honours list because the things she's achieved for Chiswick the Councillor has opposed.That includes the Flower Market and the Cherry Trees on Turnham Green.  Karen has contributed beauty, joy, visitors, prosperity and positivity to our village and was celebrated for doing so at the awards, which I hope inspires her to keep going and others to be inspired by her example.

Karen has achieved where many others have failed, through sheer persistence and determination to make life better for those living in Chiswick.  No negative attitudes only positive.  She deserves recognition for the hard work she has put in.  Guerilla gardening, Dukes Meadows, Cherry Trees, Abundance, Flower market and much else.

For one who took up the cudgels on behalf of Cllr Biddolph in the cherrygate saga, your refusal to accept an obvious snub to Karen Liebreich is not surprising. It's an absurd idea that Karen should be excluded from mention because she belongs to the "wrong" ward.

Cllr Biddolph is brilliant and has my full support.She always has Chiswick’s best interests at heart and is an extremely diligent and hard working councillor. I am afraid that Karen L rather let herself down with the beyond ridiculous “squirrel/tulip gate” fuss, although I doubt that was why she was not mentioned . Yes again, another almighty fuss about nothing.

It's not an almighty fuss about nothing. Karen Liebreich has done much for Chiswick, and failing to mention her seems rather churlish, to say the least.  Perhaps the OP might have better confined himself to asking why Karen's name was omitted, without speculating as to the reason. Perhaps also we might expect an answer on here from Cllr Biddolph, if she feels she has been traduced.

Dear SarahI agree with you entirely;  Councillor Biddolph DOES have Chiswick's best interests at heart, always.    Why can't other residents acknowledge that, and move on from issues regarding Cherry Trees?As a regular Litter Picker, may I ask how many of those making negative comments join the Litter Pick which Jo Biddolph joins in EVERY TIME?    (As does Ron Mushiso?

The young cherry trees are looking fabulous on Turnham Green having been planted by the goodies after the people who fought for so long against them were defeated. I hope Jill and Joanna are coping OK with the blossom debris.The ones on the Staveley Rd barrier are looking fab too.  #Sakura - renewal and optimism.

"The young cherry trees are looking fabulous on Turnham Green..."Indeed they are, but thanks to a long standing resident of Sharon Road who diligently  watered them during the really hot spells in 2021 and 2022, without his hard work these Cherry trees would not being looking 'fabulous'. I should also add that Peter has absolutely nothing to do with Abundance,FOTG, Jill Spencer, Jo Biddolph or Karen Liebreich. He's a community minded resident and avid gardener who positively shuns publicity and praise, unlike one, or possibly two, notable Chiswick characters.
