Chiswick Gators

Really surprised to read that chiswick gators are looking for a new venue one of the reasons is disrepair of the school sports hall? I thought that the  money made at the school carboots each month are to be able to benefit the school & fund any disrepairs?

It's a good point although my wife was on the PTA of another school and they were restricted from spending money they raised on the buildings. This could be what is happening in this case?

Funds raised by parents in state schools do not ordinarily get spent on buildings or staff - that ultimately is the school’s responsibility. Presumably, in this case the school budget has been squeezed and there is no money to spend on the sports hall.

Money from the borough schools capital fund was taken to pay for the Duke Meadows walkway. I'm a fan of the bridge but this probably was not the best way to pay for it.

Indeed Francis. I made some noise about this at the time but nobody seemed at all bothered.We were told no school suffered as a result but surely the point is no school benefited. Children's education or an unnecessary walkway?Anyway I hope there is some cash left to restore the wooded spinney that was destroyed during construction and left as barren soil and rubble.

alot of money has been spent - for instance there's been new a/c that came in at /during covid.. the issue is the running of the hall is very dependent upon the quality of the personnel- some are great, other not so great - as detailed in the article. Crying shame if they move its a very well run and popular activity. However, its not like we all didnt tell Hounslow that local sporting events would suffer due to the lunacy and constant change of the access /parking rules...
