Stupidity.

"Advice from the Courts and Tribunals Judiciary said that judges must treat everyone in the court "respectfully" and think about how their "words and behaviour can affect others".The confusing new guidelines left one judge overseeing a court in Wales asking jurors if they would be offended if he addressed them as "ladies and gentleman".Justice Eyre was left worried he risked upsetting non-binary people if he did not first ask if anyone was offended by the phrase".When is this nonsense going to end?

There seems to be a few practices in courts which need looking at,like the right of defendants to not face the music in court when they are sentenced.

Clearly the only way to stop this nonsense is to re-elect a Conservative government. We can be sure that it would progress the wholly synthetic war on "woke" as a distraction from its manifold failures in economic management, education, health and social services, and in particular its failure to  address immiseration. But perhaps you consider these are issues of much less importance than how a judge chooses to address jurors.

Really? After more than ten years of Tory government, we seem to need to 'stop this nonsense'? Under who's leadership has that fallen, and indeed 'started'? What started this apparent nonsense, and who was running the government during this time? Using the term 'woke' to emphasise your position just smells of laziness, you're not even close to addressing the issues, despite your psudo-intenectual babble . . . ugh.

Michael, Robert’s post was very much tongue in cheek.I strongly doubt Robert thinks a re-elected Conservative majority government is the “solution”.
