The only person I can see quoted in the article is the ‘country manager of Swapfiets’, which is a bicycle rental company. I question whether that would make someone a cycling expert, especially given that, according to her LinkedIn profile, she’s only been in this role since June last year, worked for Trainline and TUI before that and doesn’t even have cycling listed among her interests (squash and freestyle dance, in case you’re interested) or as part of her studies. If it only takes around 10 months to become an expert in something to the extent you can be quoted in mainstream media as such, then you might want to watch out next time you seek the help of any expert for anything. Let’s not mistake an enthusiast for an expert.
