Hypocrisy and LB Hounslow - what do you think ?

I imagine that a good number of organisations and businesses are in the same position so I can't think Hounslow will be granted an exemption but anything is possible I guess.Presumably Hounslow think they have a fair chance or why bother asking. Have they already had a nod is as good as a wink from Khan? Makes you wonder.

I gather that diesel vehicles operating within the Heathrow Airport zone all day and night are not affected by ULEZ...as it's considered private land!Their polluting vehicles,added to polluting aircraft seemsa hypocrisy too.

How does Hounslow manage at the moment with much of the Chiswick part of the borough already inside the existing ULEZ? Presumably their non-compliant vans have to turn round at the border, which might explain why Chiswick is so poorly served!

What exactly is wrong with giving the Mayor the heads up on what Ealing's situation is on their journey to a change towards cleaner greener vehicles?  Far better to be upfront about it.As the piece in the Telegraph says:"She said in the letter, obtained by The Daily Telegraph: 'We have already invested in their replacement, yet supply chain challenges mean the earliest likely date for vehicle delivery is 2023-24."Obstacles are constantly being created by those resistant to change and after the years of lobbying and stalling by some politicians and companies involved in the creating of the global problems we are now having to deal with; we are  still moving forward.https://racetozero.unfccc.int/system/race-to-zero/

I presume you only use one vehicle at a time rather than a fleet.

What’s that got to do with it? Chris’ point is spot on. Indeed there is an 18 month lead in on some compliant cars.

A great deal.  It is a heads up and it is a Council fleet and not an individual.  There is nothing to stop you doing the same thing but the situation of one person is just not the same.
