Defibrillators
I agree with your comments on the fact that placing defibrillators in DC Decaux's massive advertising structures, is a 'sweetener' but better than nothing I guess. My issue is that the defibrillators are needed on the busy end of the High Road, where firstly there is more likely to be a cardiac arrest and secondly ambulances CANNOT get to the casualty in under 10 minutes due to the new road layout. So why not ask DC Decaux to place ANOTHER 2 defibrillators on walls further down the High Road, possibly outside the Catholic Church and at the Turnham Green Terrace junction as certainly no room for ad boards there. I will then hold free training sessions on how to use them and train the people of Chiswick the simple life saving steps of CPR and Safe Use of a (amazingly easy to use and wonderful!) Defibrillator. Surely the cost for DC Decaux is minimal at maybe £1500 each including wall cabinets? I would also be happy to be the Defibrillator guardian. Makes sense?
